Bella was the result of a mating between two dual champions; Swifthouse Tufty and Mathams Dark Claret of Trolanda.  Three generations back and the pedigree shows a further two Dual Champions, a Field Trial Champion and a Show Champion in the breeding.

Bella was my first dog.  She always had a mind of her own but was a fast moving dog and by the age of 2 1/2 had done very well in Gun Dog working tests.

She was nearly 5 before I entered her in her first field trial a Novice Stake at Wheldrake in Yorkshire, where she got a reserve under Michael Brander and John Breckon.  After that she won a Reserve in a Novice Field Trial at Fenstanton, and then won her first Field Trial at Somerley in Hampshire, an All Aged Stake.  A second in an Open qualifying at Marshland Estate, Suffolk.  She did quite well in the show ring winning several firsts in Championship Shows.
